Maui Weather
Maui is comprised of multiple microclimates. It is generally drier on Maui’s leeward side (south and west shores) where you’ll find spectacular beaches and the resorts of Wailea, Kaanapali and Kapalua. The wetter windward side (north and east shores) are where the lush Iao Valley and the scenic road to Hana are found.
The coldest months are January and February which average 81°F for daytime high temperatures while the evenings chill off to an average of 63°F. At the beach resorts, summer months heat up to an average around 88°F. Average summer evening temperatures only dip to the low 70s.
If you visit Upcountry Maui, the temperatures are typically 8-10 degrees cooler. If you’re driving up to the 9,740-foot level to Haleakala Visitor Center atop Haleakala National Park, expect temperatures in the 40s or lower, so bring warm clothes.
